Opened, its 7.6-inch inner display creates a much larger surface for viewing content, working across apps and everyday use.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor a leather case, this changes the design considerably.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eProtection can no longer be considered around a single rigid body. The case has to follow the movement of the device while leaving the folding mechanism free to operate naturally.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThat is where our development work begins.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eDesigning a leather case for iPhone Duo\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOur objective is not simply to adapt an existing iPhone case to a different shape. We are developing the iPhone Duo case around the particular architecture of the device.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eMovement\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe case must accompany repeated opening and closing without restricting the natural movement of iPhone Duo.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eThe hinge\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eProtection around the folding area requires particular attention. The hinge must remain free to move while exposed areas of the device are protected as effectively as possible.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eThickness\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAdding leather and protective construction to a folding device can quickly create unnecessary bulk. Keeping the finished case as thin as possible is therefore one of our priorities.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eEveryday handling\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe two displays, cameras and controls must remain easily accessible whether iPhone Duo is being used open or closed.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eLeather and construction\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe structure has to combine the natural properties of leather with the mechanical requirements of a device that changes shape throughout the day.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese are development objectives.
