Leather bands for the 49mm Apple Watch Ultra
A case size that has never changed
The Apple Watch Ultra has kept the same 49mm case through every generation, so one band fits all four. Ours are built around it: connectors sized for the Ultra, and a 115 × 75 mm cut made for wrists from 17 to 21 cm — without the excess strap a standard band leaves behind.
Three leathers, three ways of ageing
This is where the choice really lies.
Full-grain calfskin, from French tanneries, takes a patina: it darkens where the wrist creases, softens within weeks and ends up moulded to the wearer. Light scratches burnish back.
Genuine American alligator, cut from Mississippi flanks, flexes at the seams between its square scales — so the scales themselves stay intact, and the surface gains a glaze instead of scuffing.
Epsom calfskin does the opposite: its grain is heat-pressed into the surface and does not patina. After two years it looks much as it did on the first day, and the colour stays bright.
Cut, stitched, finished
Each band is shaped by hand. On calfskin and alligator the edge is cut, sanded and dyed the Hermès way, with a double stitch in the edge’s own colour; the Epsom is finished tone on tone. All three are lined in Alsavel, tanned in France for its resistance to perspiration.

Leather changes the character of the watch. Rather than imitating an Ocean, Trail or Alpine band, it turns the Ultra into a more restrained object, at ease with business, travel and everyday clothes.
